Story of the band

Red Hot Chili Peppers, American rock band that combined funk and punk rock to create a new musical style in the 1980s. The original members were vocalist Anthony Kiedis , bassist Flea, guitarist Hillel Slovak, and drummer Jack Irons.  Later members included guitar player and singer John Frusciante  and drummer Chad Smith.

Flea

Melbourne-born Michael Peter Balzary earned the moniker "Flea" during his teenage years due to his perpetual restlessness. Upon relocating to California and enrolling at Fairfax High School, his enduring friendship with Red Hot Chili Peppers' frontman Anthony Kiedis commenced. Initially a jazz trumpeter, Flea's transition to rock music and bass guitar was catalyzed by Hillel Slovak.

Flea played a pivotal role in the establishment of Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1983. Since then, the band has delivered 11 studio albums, amassing a global sales record of over 80 million copies.

John Frusciante

John Anthony Frusciante, an American musician, has had three distinct tenures as the guitarist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers spanning from 1988 to 1992, 1998 to 2009, and from 2019 to the present day. Chad Smith

Chad Smith, born on October 25, 1961, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, was raised in a household steeped in music. His mother's background as an opera singer and his father's affiliation with jazz music shaped his musical upbringing.
At the tender age of seven, Smith embarked on his drumming journey, honing his skills through his formative years. Throughout high school, he immersed himself in various band projects. Upon relocating to Los Angeles in the early 1980s, he became a part of a local group named Toby Redd, an experience that ultimately led to his audition with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1988.
