Port wine is a fortified wine produced from grapes grown in the Upper Douro River Valley leading in 1756 to the world’s first wine region to have a formal demarcation.
The venue of IWNMNNF 2019 is Hotel Régua Douro in Peso da Régua, a small town that is the gateway to the Upper Douro Valley, today a UNESCO protected landscape. Régua is half way between Porto and the Portuguese-Spanish border and can be reached by car, bus, train or boat from Porto, which is served by an international airport connecting directly to major cities in Europe, North and South America.
