VBE2023

The First International Conference on Vehicle Body Engineering will take place at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2023.

This conference will be chaired by Professor Lucas F. M. da Silva (University of Porto, Portugal) and Dr. Eduardo A. S. Marques (INEGI, Portugal).

The focus of this conference is the study on the design of the structural components of the vehicle body and by including other transportation sectors (aerospace and railway). Novel research works carried out in various topics within these wider themes will be accepted.

Among the topics covered are:

The abstracts (one-page) should be sent by June 16, 2023 to the organizing committee via email to lucas@fe.up.pt. Please indicate if you wish an oral or poster presentation and if you want your abstract to be included in the "Artificial Intelligence for Railway Safety: Advancements in Data Analysis" mini-symposium.

Registration

The registration for the conference can be made in the following link. Each participant, including the authors, must pay the respective registration fee.

Early bird (Until July 21, 2023)
Regular delegate - 600 EUR
Student (MSc or PhD) - 500 EUR
Online - Videoconference - 350 EUR

Standard (From July 22, 2023)
Regular delegate - 700 EUR
Student (MSc or PhD) - 600 EUR
Online - Videoconference - 450 EUR

The conference registration includes the book of abstracts, lunches, coffee-breaks, conference dinner and reception at the end of the first day.

Cancellation policy
In case of cancellation, written notification should be sent to the chairs of the conference. If received before September 2, 2023, the registration fees will be refunded with a deduction of 75 €. Refund will not be possible for cancellations after September 2, 2023.

Mini-symposium


"Artificial intelligence for railway safety: Advancements in data analysis"

The VBE2023 conference will include a mini-symposium on artificial intelligence for railway safety, focusing on the advancements brought by data analysis. This mini-symposium aims to promote the use of advanced techniques in numerical analyses and experimental field tests to improve railway safety and efficiency and resilience. By bringing together experts from academia and industry, the symposium offers an opportunity to share insights and foster collaborations and partnerships towards more resilient and adaptive infrastructure systems.

This mini-symposium is organized by Araliya Mosleh (University of Porto, Portugal), Diogo Ribeiro (Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal), Cecilia Vale (University of Porto, Portugal), Amir Garmabaki (Luleå University of Technology, Sweden), Abdollah Malekjafarian (University College Dublin, Ireland) and Pedro Montenegro (University of Porto, Portugal).
