MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Mechanical Engineering Doctoral Program (PRODEM) of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto-FEUP aims to train highly qualified researchers in the area of Mechanical Engineering. The training is concluded by a high-level study and research in a subject included in the wide range of areas covered by mechanical engineering (PhD thesis). As a result, the student should be able to carry out independent research in the area, at the same time integrating several competencies and promoting the development of knowledge both in an academic and scientific environment, as well as in the business environment.

CAREER PROSPECTS

Among others, possible professional careers are:

• as a senior researcher in universities or research institutes
• as a senior researcher in research departments of companies.
