The applications for the Faculty of Engineering, University of Porto (FEUP) are open for the academic year 2022/2023.

The 1st call for applications is mainly directed to international students, both because there are specific calls for international (like the “International Call for Applications” for Bachelors/”Licenciaturas) and because of the importance of applying as soon as possible to make sure that the visa application is concluded on time. FEUP keeps on offering financial incentives in the Bachelors and Masters to guarantee that its programmes are attractive to the best international students.

The 1st call for applications to FEUP has already opened. For the academic year, 2022/2023 FEUP offers a total of 51 study programmes of 1st, 2nd and 3rd Cycle, namely 10 Bachelors in Engineering, taught in Portuguese, 23 Masters and 18 Doctoral Programmes in Engineering and cross-cutting areas, mainly in English.

At the bachelor’s level, the admissions regime for international students (“Special Contest – International Students”), with its 1st call until 21 February, is directed to students of non-European Union Member-States, who hold a high school certificate or equivalent, which in their country of origin allows them to apply for higher education. Among the accepted admission examinations is the National Examination of High School, the so-called Brazilian ENEM. Students with the best admission grades may benefit from a financial incentive. This application must be submitted e in the first application form to study at FEUP; results are communicated after the last enrolment period for 2022/2023.

In the Masters, although applications are open to all countries, including Europe, this 1st call for applications, until 5 March, is especially recommended to international students who need a visa to travel to Portugal. Considering the visa can take about 90 days to be issued from the moment the inquiry has been fully submitted, students should pay attention to these deadlines in order to guarantee that they are able to come to Portugal before the start of the academic year.

The offer in Master Programmes is quite diverse, with a range of 9 Masters in Engineering, in line with the correspondent Bachelors in Engineering and recognized by the Portuguese Engineering Council. There are also 14 Masters in other Engineering fields or cross-cutting areas.

Since last year, International Master students may benefit from a financial incentive, which at the Master’s level is provided not on the basis of the admissions classification but taking into account the grades obtained in the end of the 1st semester at FEUP.

For those who search a Doctoral Programme applications may submitted now or within one of the four calls spread until the end of 2022.
