Project overview

The goal of SmartHELMET project is to create a multiannual joint collaborative framework between re-search and industrial organizations, to increase the knowledge on smart thermal solutions for bicycle helmets. This will be achieved through a series of staff exchanges between partners from different sec-tors, to promote common understanding of the existing problems and opportunities, as well as syner-gistic approaches to the helmet thermal management.

The SmartHELMET project builds on multidisciplinary expertise, including product design, fluid me-chanics, heat and mass transfer, thermoregulation/ thermal physiology, process control, together with numerical simulation, electronics development and integration, and also product characterization and product development.
