Two paradigmatic approaches to Flexible Real-Time Communication that I have been pursuing:

• For networks with high level of control:
  (law enforcement approach)
  The Flexible Time-Triggered (FTT) framework.
• For networks with low level of control:
  (voluntary cooperation approach)
  Reconfigurable and Adaptive TDMA for collaborative robotics (plus RTDB middleware).

• Vice-Director of the CISTER - Research Center on Real-Time and Embedded Computing Systems in Porto (since 2018)
• Coordinator of the DaRTES - Distributed and Real-Time Embedded Systems laboratory at FEUP (since 2009)
• Coordinator of the Networked Systems Group at IT-Porto (2015-2017)
• Coordinator of the LSE - Electronic Systems Lab at IEETA (2003-2009)
