The main objectives of this web site are:

• To share my knowledge about antique stereoviews of Portugal, including professional and amateur stereographers, particularly in the earlier period (1850-1900), but covering also the 20th century (up to the 1950's).
• To enable the visitors to see low-resolution images (minimum 72 dpi) of the cards listed. Most of the images are from my personal collection, but some are made available due to the courtesy of other people that share my interest for this type of antique photographs.
• Last but not least, to reach other people interested in antique stereoviews.

I will be pleased to get in touch with anyone interested in antique photographs in general, and particularly in those of Portugal, including Madeira and the Azores. You may contact me by email to jmf@fe.up.pt (please include the word "stereoviews" in any messages sent me, to make sure that they pass any email spam filters).
Any relevant pieces of information sent to me and thereafter referred in this site will obviously be accompanied by an acknowledgement of the contributor. The reproduction of any contents of this site requires previous authorisation from the author.

Note: This site was prepared using MS tools. For this reason, it will presumably work properly with MS Internet Explorer and Windows operating systems. A few things may not display as expected with other browsers or operating systems.
