Anonymous - Unidentified

The variety of card mounts for anonymous views of unidentified locations is very wide. Some of them will be part of a particular series of views made for commercial purposes, but the vast majority will consist of amateur views that were not signed or identified by the stereographer. I selected a few more representative examples to show below:

Light grey flat card mount with early round-corner images (a beautiful rural scene / country fair, probably an early view from an important stereographer).

(Sort of) orange flat card mount with early round-corner (poorly hand-painted) images. This view belongs to the same series apparently covering the whole of Portugal that has already been presented (for Braga and Porto) under this category.

Light brown flat card mount with square-corner images, possibly from the 1880's. One of my favourites, not the least because it represents a highly unlikely place to be stereographed (and here's why anonymous views of unidentified locations may bring us pleasant surprises): A small grocery store in the mid of nowhere, the owners, and perhaps some customers.

Beige flat card mount with square-corner images, possibly from the early 1900's. Another unlikely view to be found under any other category!
