Sumários e Índices Publ. pedagógica LEONARDO DfDTT: This document contains the materials for the Training Action (TA) Design for Debug and Test Techniques, which is part of the Design for Debug and Test (DfDT) module within workpackage 2 of the Leonardo INSIGHT II project. The objective of this TA consists of presenting several DfDT techniques based on the IEEE 1149.1 Standard. The materials presented in TA2 (Techniques for Prototype Debugging and Validation) and TA3 (Design for Test Standards and Proposed Standards) are first summarised and combined to provide an extensive analysis on the potential benefits of using both the basic and optional modes of the Boundary Scan Test (BST) infrastructure for implementing the debug operations identified in TA2. The optional modes are covered in two hierarchy levels: the chip level, where optional instructions defined by the standard are considered, and the board level, where commercial available components with enhanced debug and test features are considered. The requirements for additional 1149.1 features for improved prototype debugging are finally discussed, leading to a set of new optional BST instructions. 1 - INTRODUCTION 2 - DEBUGGING MODES /OPERATIONS The debug model: basic debug operation types
- IEEE 1149.1: BASIC AND OPTIONAL OPERATING MODES Mandatory BST instructions
- DEBUGGING THROUGH 1149.1 BASIC OPERATING MODES State COV operations
- OPTIONAL MODES: ENHANCED DEBUGGING PROCEDURES State COV operations
- ADDITIONAL 1149.1 FEATURES FOR IMPROVED DEBUGGING State COV operations
