Practical work #1 :: Week of 08/02/2021


By the end of this class, the student should be able to:

  • Identify and register a project group
  • Choose the project theme
  • Start writing the project's details
  • Start using a GitLab code repository



  1. Read the unit rules (fact sheet) and the rules that apply to the practical work (by-laws)
  2. Read the themes (proposals) of the practical work
  3. Login in GitLab to have an account
  4. Form the project group and wait for the teacher to approve it (the teacher assigns a theme and adds your account to the group GitLab repository)
  5. Initiate the GitLab wiki to keep the artefacts (with the teacher)
  6. Start the ER wiki page with the artefact A1 (with the teacher)
  7. Initiate the Checklists spreadsheet (with the teacher)
  8. Discuss with the teacher (client) the theme of the project
  9. Initiate the GitLab repository README file
  10. Register the members of the group in Moodle
  11. Read the README tab in the group's Checklists spreadsheet
  12. Copy the ER and A1 tabs from the Reference checklist
  13. Answer the LBAW 20/21 Survey (if you haven't done it yet).


  • Setup the working groups and project themes. Start working on the project documentation. Development of the ER component (artefact A1 — Project presentation).
