Projects

PAINTER

A framework for the assisted creation and edition of virtual environments to be used collaboratively in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)

M2S

Relating executive functions and writing through a mindfulness app to promote children’s cognitive, social, and health-related outcomes

ISea

Developing a non-obtrusive, valid and replicable method to evaluate audience attitudes about science communication projects through an immersive virtual reality environment.

Augmented Video/ AmbiVideo 360

This tool allows journalists and content producers to create immersive 360º news with dynamic annotations, narrative attention focus points, oriented 3D subtitles and off-the-shelf visual effects. Additionally the annotated video will be available online through a web player.

FEEdBACk

The central objective of the FEEdBACk project is to promote, stimulate and deliver energy efficiency through behavioural change, through a pervasive mobile application.

SIMUSAFE

SIMUSAFE aims to improve driving simulator and traffic simulation technology to safely assess risk perception and decision making of road users

BEACONING

BEACONING focuses on ‘anytime anywhere’ learning by exploiting pervasive, context-aware and gamified techniques and technologies, framed under the Problem-Based Learning approach.

TEC4Growth

TEC4Growth deals with enhancers of distributed intelligence and how they can target specific and distinct industrial contexts, bringing about challenges that otherwise would not be perceived if remaining in a pure abstract approach.

It is organised in three research lines: Smiles, FourEyes and iMan.

MASSIVE

MASSIVE (acronym for Multimodal Acknowledgeable multiSenSory Immersive Virtual Environments) is focused on the multidisciplinary study of the relationship between virtual reality technologies and the different dimensions of human performance.

ERAS

The aim of this project is to develop a tool for archaeologists that allows the reconstruction and visualisation of archaeological sites with complete buildings (including interiors and exteriors), based on procedural modeling techniques.

3DWikiU

This project main objetive is to develop a collaborative Virtual Reality system that features a more natural and intuitive interface to provide diversified services about urban environments - a 3D Wiki for urban environments.

SIMPROVE

SIMPROVE is aimed to create innovative contributions that will form the basis of the "Biomedical Simulation Centre of the Future", supported by a set of tools designed to create new simulation scenarios, training (scenario editor) and serious games (serious games editor).

GReSBAS

GReSBAS is an European project that aims to achieve grid responsive consumer-side resources through gamified competition between the building owners with widely used automation technologies.

3D4LBMS

This project was aimed at the development of a procedural modeling system to autoatically generate virtual environments of urban environments for LBMS (Location Based Mobile Services).
