Carla Teixeira Lopes is an Associate Professor in the Department of Informatics Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto and a Senior Researcher at INESC TEC. She holds a Ph.D. (2013) in Informatics Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto, where she also obtained a master’s degree in Information Management (2005) and a bachelor’s degree in Informatics Engineering and Computing (1999). Her research interests lie at the intersection of information retrieval and human-computer interaction. She is interested in studying information search behavior and developing tools that help people search more successfully. Lately, she has been focused on improving health consumers' experience searching the Web and exploring linked data in the cultural heritage domain.
